The filing deadline for 2014 races is December 9th - that's just over a month away. The primary is in early March.

No one is getting into this race who isn't already in it. There's not enough time.

The Democrats once again essentially have no candidate. The only person who seems to have declared they're running is an El Paso attorney named Maxey Scherr, and she does not even have a campaign website. They couldn't even scrounge up a former state legislator to run like they did last year.
