This is extremely, extremely poor judgment exhibited by Zuwo. Hopefully the Supreme Court will take care of this matter. I don't mind that he wants to restrict abortions because of his religious beliefs, but the underhanded way he went about it. Sign the damn bill and let the people have their say! If the Federalists have to gain power, this is not the way to do it and is extremely counterproductive.

Hmmm... well an initiative repealing this law would have the same effect as a referendum with no ridiculous loopholes.

I agree this should be our backup option, but I'm interested to see if the governor grows a backbone and signs this bill into law. For someone who was supposedly elected to protect the rights of the Mideastern citizenry, he seems quite unconerned about defending the integrity of the political process and by extension, the region itself.

He is protecting the rights of the citizens by signing this into law.

Fetuses are not citizens

They are babies not fetuses. They are citizens and as such merit the protection of the law. Why should someone who murders another get to live yet the baby be denied the due process of the law?

If its still in the mother, its not a citizen. Period. End of story.

Life begins at conception. Thus they are citizens and merit the protection of the law.
Stop stating opinions as if they are facts and stop ignoring facts presented to you that interfere with your beliefs.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you guys want to do this, I urge you to go forward with it if you have not.

ZuWo will, at worst, send someone to stop it in some form another. I will counter, then, that he has violated VI.1 of the Constitution by not allowing you to petition the government to deal with a problem.  And anything else I can find once I start to research it.

Time is the main factor here - we don't know what the next admin will do, so I would like to secure a referendum for you if I can. But if you want to wait and see, that's fine too. I also think this loophole is rather being abused pretty severely.

Aside from the loophole, we've already met the criteria for a referendum Tongue  Or were you saying to go forward with something else?

Well, let's hold off. We're hopefully not far from having the Court running again, so let's see if the nominee is confirmed. I was concerned about time and I was thinking, let them try to stop it, but I don't want to gum up the Court if we have a nomination under way. So let's hold off, but I am prepared to make the VI.1 argument if we need to. Smiley

This bill disgusts me and the process disgusts me and it takes a LOT to get me to care about this stupid game to post about it again.

However collect yourselves. Any bill has to be considered by the Assembly upon petition of any Assembly member or 'three Mideast citizens'

So draft a replacement bill and petition for it and the Assembly will have to consider it. That way you circumvent the need for a referendum.

I would love to scrap this whole bill in the assembly, but unfortunately my three Federalist colleagues and the Governor seem to think this is the greatest bill since sliced bread.

That's why we were petitioning for a referendum.

Well play hard. Petition it, submit it and if it get's defeated, repetition it.

In action by Governor ZuWo is paramount to support. I would not support a law like this in the Northeast.

The Mideast Assembly has voted to repeal the Mideast Abortion Sex Protection Act with the support of Siren, Mr. X, and Inks.LWC. I strongly encourage Governor ZuWo to sign this bill and put this bill to death, where it belongs!

Just stopping by to remind Governor ZuWo that I did not in fact crash my car into yours, I simply taped a brick to the gas pedal and pointed it in your general direction. You may see my attorneys for comment.
