Did the kid have a gun or explosives... or anything?  With all the violent movies and video games out there a lot of violent language and imagery enters the world of youngsters.  That doesn't necessarily mean they are going to act it out.  For all the stories we have of kids getting expelled for making guns out of cookies I wonder how many real threats are actually stopped.

In my day a hit list was a list of girls we wanted to "hit", so to speak.

This is news? When I was in school, especially Junior High, like at least 5 kids got busted for having "hit lists."

The 1800's sure must've been a magical time.

I got busted for having a "hit list" in elementary school. I got sent to the principals office and my parents grounded me for 2 weeks.

Wasn't any malice behind it, I just thought Kill Bill was a really cool movie.

Two kids at my middle school got busted for making a list and were banned from the county school system for life. The incident escalated quickly the day after they told their friends about it, because the next morning a girl briefly saw a skateboard wrench in one of the kid's lockers and thought it was a gun. The School Resource Officer (the sheriff's deputy who was at the school all day) was called to investigate and he searched the locker which was actually a bit of a scene because at the school your locker was in your homeroom not the hallway.

That is mind bogglingly inappropriate.  And the results were predictable... as I predicted earlier in this thread.

You know I have never heard of this "hit list" stuff.  I am just amazed that people are going this crazy over it.  Having a thorough investigation is one thing.  But just summarily throwing kids out of school is quite another.

I meant shown those films during the time in which you attended elementary school.

He pm'd me and told me this was a joke. It's because I called him transphobic and a bigot in another thread.

Yeah I did it because of the homophob bigot thing but I didn't realize you were in on that.  I don't hold grudges.  And I wouldn't have joked around about it with you if I remembered because I wouldn't want to give the impression I remember who was involved let alone cared.  My bad.  Stuff that gets said in the heat of a debate is water under the bridge.  I was just piggybacking on your joke.
