Folks, it looks like former Arizona State Attorney General Terry Goddard (D) will be campaigning for Arizona Secretary of State this year.

However, he does have competition in the Democratic primary though. State Senator Leah Landrum Taylor had filed for the race. On the GOP side, Mesa businessman Will Cardon, State Rep. Justin Pierce, and State Senator Michele Reagan.

Incumbent AZ Secretary of State Ken Bennett (R) is barred from seeking a 2nd full four-year term this year and running for the governorship.

What do y'all rate Goddard's chances ?

Oh wow, we all actually completely missed that. Good catch.

I don't exactly know about AZ politics or Goddard's chances, but I'd say it Leans R for now.

The statewide environment might be bad for Democrats in 2014, but Goddard should be a slight favorite I would say.  Goddard is a name brand in Arizona politics, especially in Phoenix where the population center is.
