We have a new Ingress operation coming up there on the 24th. I got the day off confirmed, so I'll be heading there! Did you know you can get a bus ticket from Minneapolis to Chicago for only $22 if registered beforehand?

So the schedule will be like this:

11PM Friday: Leave Minneapolis
8AM: Come to Chicago, get someone local to pick me up
1PM: Operation begin.
8PM: Head with rest of team back to Minneapolis.

Yeah a quickie, but it should be fun.

I did actually, I sometimes see those buses on 94.  I have also done Chicago in a day, though we drove and it was to show our Ukrainian friend the city.

Man it'd be funny if any Twin Cities Enlightened also go and take our rivalry out of state...

I plan on mining as many keys as possible for the giant spoon and cherry sculpture and Mary Tyler Moore statue to trade with locals. Those are the iconic Minneapolis images after all.

$44 for a round trip is a pretty sweet deal. Enjoy yourself.

Make sure you look up 2012 precinct data for the areas where you mine the keys!

It's amazing to think those words could ever be put together in a sentence.  Is there really a Mary Tyler Moore statue?

That's about what the two buses each way total for my round trip to my beachy holiday (which I'm currently having), Sanchez.  That said, I've traveled about a full 8-9 hours of bus-movement.  How many hours is your bus-trip, BRTD?

(also I should note my buses are 'VIP first class' with large armchairs, just three abreast across the bus, little video screens for watching movies and playing games at each armchair, and some crappy food service from a steward)

Congrats, bro. Some folks I know might head there in September for a concert. If able, I might join them.

Make sure you look up 2012 pre cinct data for the areas where you mine the keys!

Neither of those is in a residential area. I'd imagine both are in precincts that voted around ~75% and over 85% against banning gay marriage, which is kind of standard for a non-residential downtown precinct.

Now if you mean the areas in Chicago where I'll be playing...obviously yeah I'll do that. Smiley

You've never heard of it? It's one of our most used spots for photo ops for tourists.

About 8 hours each way. Also I'm leaving just before midnight and will arrive in Chicago at 9AM.

Actually I just did look up the precincts for those iconic images. The Spoon and Cherry sits right north of a heavily residential area and is in that precinct, it voted over 81% for Obama and 92% against banning gay marriage, which incidentally makes it the second strongest "No" vote in the city and just about 0.15% behind the highest "No" precinct in an organic food co-op, art gallery and yoga center filled precinct in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood. I suppose though that should not be too surprising for a precinct consisting almost exclusively of affluent white people who live right south and in easy walking distance of something called the "Walker Art Center".

The downtown precinct the Mary Tyler Moore statue is in though voted just under 75% both for Obama and against gay marriage...I'm curious about the gay marriage vote actually.

BTW opebo, you should get a Droid and play Ingress. I understand the Resistance is quite active in Thailand.

Here's a pic of one of their elite teams taken right before an operation. As you can see they are quite numerous.

Good god man, you're certainly way off base about the elements of society with which I fraternize.
