There's two days left and we need a ruling for these 4 cases.

There's no reason they can't rule on 2 on Monday and 2 on Thursday. Or they could have some real fun and rule on 4 on Thursday.

Of course they'll rule on all of them.

Since the VRA case is unlikely to have a surprising result, it'll probably be paired with the Affirmative Action case on Monday, leaving the SSM cases for Thursday.  Possibly they'll reverse the order, but I doubt it.

I think they'll rule on all four cases. At most, the Prop 8 case could be ruled as improvidently granted, However, that seems very unlikely. So, I think it comes down to how broad or narrow the decisions are.

I expect the affirmative action case to wipe out all race-based affirmative action, at least with respect to college admissions. I wouldn't expect the VRA case to be as broad in light of a Section 4 solution rather than striking down Section 5. DOMA will almost certainly be decided on the merits, the least of which would be on account of states' rights. Prop 8 could result in a 50-state recognition of gay marriage. However, that decision could also be kicked down to the lower courts.

As to the question, I think all of the cases will be settled in at least one way by the Supreme Court.

Yes. Although if SCOTUS goes with the most likely option of throwing out Prop. 8, but not giving gay marriage to any other states, that will encourage cases to get gay marriage in other states. I mean legally, the Supreme Court would be throwing out a state constitutional amendment in California, allowing gay marriage to be legal, but ignoring other states, when there's not even anything prohibiting gay marriage in New Mexico or New Jersey.
