Do you have some experience about fishing in the river?
What kind of weather will bring you lots of fish and what makes you back without anything.

Excellent thread title as usual!

I never fished in the river - in Missouri fishing in the river is more of a lower class white or (particularly) black thing.  My people fished in their own lakes, but even that only rarely.

Days when the weather is hot, bright sunshine, and no wind = few, if any fish.

Early morning and late afternoons are the best time regardless of weather, but a gloomy cloudy day, where the water is choppy and moving along nice and it's not too hot, is good.

hmm.  really?  i grew up fishing in rivers.  i never noticed it had anything to do with class.

i think you mean bank fishing as opposed to boat fishing.

one thing i always thought was odd about the black fisherman...they wanted to catch turtles.

The best time to fish is also the most dangerous:  That eerie humid dark calm right before a nasty thunderstorm moves through.  The fish go crazy!  This also coincides generally with evening time, which is a good time to fish.

The worst time to fish? Right around May fly hatch time.  The fish are full!
