From Huff Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/10/russ-feingold-2016_n_3417727.html?1370901880, Feingold rules out running against Walker and hints at running against Ron Johnson again.

Hope he wins, we need him back in congress.

As much as I'd love to see Feingold back in the Senate, why wouldn't he have run in 2012 if he really wanted it?  Does he consider Johnson less competitive than the last bench?

I love everything about this. Johnson is dead in the water if Feingold opts for a rematch.

If not him, then my next choice is Mahlon Mitchell.

WTF? He needs to take out Walker. I'm getting tired of him being talked about as "Presidential" material by GOPers.

I hope he wins.  Feingold and Baldwin would make a great pair of Senators from Wisconsin.

It would be kind of bizarre if Wisconsin was a contender for best pair of Senators (Vermont, Massachusetts, and Oregon provide some competition there), while Walker was still Governor.

Yeah, right.  I think he's probably done with politics.  And I would hate to see Johnson lose after only one term, especially to the same guy he beat in 2010 (who also called President Bush a criminal.)

WI, IL, and PA are gonna have Hillary at top of ticket. And in all three states Dems should ride her coat tails.

Actually, part of me wanted Feingold to troll Paul Ryan and run for his House seat next year (pretty sure he lives in Janesville).

My theory's that the reason why Paul Ryan survived the wave in 2006/2008 was because he was fairly innocuous back then. Before the fame and before he became a Republican darling, IIRC he was seen as a generic Republican. Then, he got fame for his far-right budget proposals, got thrusted into the spotlight, managed to undershoot his 2008 performance by 10% from a generic candidate, and ran just under 55%. I think Feingold might have been able to at least make it a race since people actually know that Paul Ryan's an extremist now.

Feingold was born and raised in Janesville, but he has lived most of his adult life in Middleton. Also I think Ryan would beat Feingold in 1st Congressional District, too much of the Milwaukee suburbs has been added to that district.

Feingold is needed a lot more in the Senate and I don't think anyone is beating Walker in 2014.

Guess we'll have to wait and see if he jumps in. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays in retirement though.

I think it is a go if Hillary is the nominee, certain winnable. If anyone else, a no go.

Seriously? Ron Johnson is horribly unpopular and Feingold is already leading him by 10 points in polling. Clearly the people who voted him in have buyer's remorse. I think there is a very strong chance this will go Dem, regardless of whether or not Hillary is the nominee.
