Back on Jan 31st, Mark Hasse, an Assistant DA for Kauffman County, TX (half-podunk/half suburban county just outside of Dallas) was gunned down just outside the county courthouse.  The case is still unsolved and law enforcement havn't named any suspects.  However on Feb 19th the Dallas Morning News ran an article saying that US Marshals had been going across the state questioning members of the Aryan Brotherhood--a white supremacist gang heavily involved in drug trafficking, etc...

On March 19th Tom Clements, the head of the Colorado Department of Corrections was gunned down at his home outside of Colorado Springs and also a pizza delivery man was found dead.  A couple of days later, Evan Spencer Ebel shot a Texas policeman during a traffic stop and was ultimately killed by police just west of the DFW metroplex.  Evidence connecting Ebel to the Colorado murders  was found in his car.  Ebel was a member of an Aryan Brotherhood group  "211" and speculation is that he was ordered by the group to kill Clements.

And now on Saturday, March 30th, the Kauffman County DA and his wife were found dead in their home.  A .223 caliber assault rifle was used with 14 shells found.

At this point there is no reason to connect to connect the Colorado killings with what has occured in Kauffman County, so why does the Aryan Brotherhood even get mentioned? Because the Kauffman County DA office was part of a multi-jurisdictional effort that led to the indictment of 34 Aryan brotherhood members including 4 senior members.

Now, the Kauffman county murders could be some other insular revenge scheme having nothing to do with the Aryans, but if the Aryans are involved then how should they be pursued?  An organization that orders the assassination of DAs and Head of Correctional Facilities takes gangs to a whole different level.  Can't use SEALS and thanks to Rand, you can't use drones (couldn't use them before Rand) so how far do you go in dealing with a terrorist group like this?
