Even though they're awful, at least the guy puts forward actual plans we can judge.

According to Politico that's not happening. Some of the usual suspects got cold feet.

The GOP have painted themselves into a corner.

The following are now GOP dogma:
1. We have a spending problem
2. Taxes cannot go up ever again
3. We must balance the budget
4. We cannot cut defense spending

And then there is the fifth one they dont talk about but is just as relevant: Medicare shouldn't be allowed to negotiate on all drugs, products, services, etc.

Taken together, there is only one possible outcome: big cuts to Medicare effective immediately.

One could say Ryan has guts to admit it. Of course for a GOPer to have real guts he would challenge the dogma that got them painted into the corner and/or at least fight against the drug, healthcare lobby.
