http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasurer_of_the_United_States

We haven't had a male Treasurer since 1949.

And the last three treasurers have been Hispanic. (As have six of the last ten).

Do I, as a white male, have to resign myself to the fact that I will never be able to be Treasurer? That a glass ceiling (or, perhaps, an adobe and clay tile ceiling) will forever keep me from this post?

Or maybe your sarcasm is misplaced, and this merely shows that the real sexists prefer men in the most important positions, giving their token picks lesser positions.

That's the Secretary of the Treasury. Since Bay Buchanan under Regan (Pat's sister), 5 out of 6 treasurers have been Latinas.

Yes. And, actually, the Secretary of the Treasury is the only cabinet position other than Defense that has never been held by a woman.

Hahahah oops.

Bay is a weird name.

edited to add: The West Wing's President Bartlet had a female Sec of Treasury in his second term cabinet.

Well, it's obviously not the most important position, seeing as that its vacant about 18% of the time.
