Unfortunately no-one serious is good on civil liberties, except for Paul.

And he's worse on far more issues than the Democrats. That's the problem, we never seem to get a serious liberal Democrat contender any more. Obama and the Clintons aren't liberals. Kerry was a bit to the left of them, but he still voted for the Patriot Act and the Iraq war.

This, my friend, is why I'm a Greenie. Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be an awesome liberal candidate who we can get behind...

Don't hold your breath, comrade.  The 1% will have an iron grip on the Democratic Party.  You know things are ridiculous when Elizabeth Warren is considered left-wing lol

maybe if she does really well and her policies become the new center/mainstream, things will look up. I can afford to play a long game if it means seeing a truly liberal president in my lifetime

The most likely Democrat to focus on the civil liberties issue would probably be Schweitzer, maybe some other Westerner.

Schweitzer, Heinrich, maybe Hickenlooper are the few Dems I could see myself campaigning for.
