I'm not surprised.  Obama may have acted like an idiot before when discussing this issue, but he probably realizes by now that pot isn't a controversial issue and that it's time to end the damage this war on drugs as harmless as this have done to a lot of people.  Especially black people.

The "war on pot" like the "war on drugs" isn't just social control, it's about money. If people want to argue about the legality of hard drugs like cocaine, that's one thing, but marijuana? It's nothing but 1) stigma (like when Clinton said he "didn't inhale" or some ridiculous thing like that) and 2) money, as in there's too much money made legally (budgets) and illegally (obviously, cartels and peddling) fighting the "war on pot." It's nonsense, and I think the public is waking up. Good for Colorado and the other few spots that have legalized it, and which regulate it. The parallels between marijuana and alcohol (prohibition) are overwhelming.

And light to moderate use of marijuana is far less harmful than tobacco, although chronic, heavy use of marijuana can be. But chronic, heavy use of almost anything can be harmful in some way.
