Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Seems like they used to deign to give these unfortunate people scraps from their most high and mighty farmhouse table, though.

It is mere chance that Roy Barnes had to deal with fewer of those types. One wonders why they have not self-deported to San Francisco over the last decade.

'One' might, but a person with any sense of perspective and compassion for the less fortunate surely wouldn't.

Giving away the farm to the 47ers hasn't been a priority in Georgia even back to the days of Roy Barnes.

Or Jefferson Davis for that matter. Good to see you know your roots.
The Georgia state government was once all about giving away the farm. Well into the 20th Century, an enormous part of the state budget went to pensions for those who fought for the Conferderacy and their widows, even if such weddings occurred long after the war.

Come now, surely you're aware that rents in San Francisco are several thousand dollars per month.  I doubt many Georgians of any stripe could afford that, much less the slaves.
