This may be the most likely D pickup if Collins doesn't retire and doesn't get primaried.

I'm more interested in who runs here for the Dems. *hoping for Barrow*

This is the same electorate that said no to her in 2010? Granted, she should have won that primary, but...

YES! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RUN! Handel for Senate!

I hate that chickenhawk Chambliss!

I supported Jim Martin in 2008. I will support a Dem over Saxby.

Anyone is better than Chambliss. Anyone. If it's not destined to be Cain, I'll take Handel. If not Handel - if she doesn't run, or if she loses - I'll take Barrow, or practically anyone else the Dems run.

Just. Not. Saxby. Shameless.

I think she could win with a good campaign, which might be asking for too much from her, but as far as I know, she probably would have won the primary for governor if not for Nathan Deal and others attacking her for being soft on abortion and gay rights (the runoff was very close).

Since then she's been going out of her way to be a far right bigot and was the national poster child for the anti-Planned Parenthood fiasco at Komen, so she's proven herself, if you want to call it that.

Ugh. We want Cain!

...which ought to tell you something because this seat isn't flipping especially in a sixth year of an Obama Presidency unless there is some spectacular economic recovery and a way to turn out the 2012 voters in a midterm.

It's a sad state of affairs when even he would be better than Chambliss.

Oh my goodness yes. Please, please, let's get one of those traditional crazy Georgia primaries for this seat. Handel, Erickson, Gingrey or Price, and maybe the Hall County boys who control the state GOP may even want to run Cagle if the field gets crowded enough!

The best thing about primaries with runoffs is that the more candidates already in the race, the greater likelihood a potential candidate can make it to the runoff while only carrying their core constituency. So as more people enter the race, it becomes even more likely that even further candidates will run! Cheesy

Some may recall that I was down in Georgia assisting her in her Gubernatorial run - she should be Governor right now, no doubt about it.

I think she'd be much better in the executive branch, but I still think she would be a great Senator as well. She'd be one of my favorite candidates of the 2014 cycle.
