Apart from monkeys pigs are some of the animals that resembles humans the most, so this seems perfectly reasonable. Its important that surgeons get the best possible training. I cant see its unnecessary cruelty to animals. More resonable than most use of animals in medical research IMO.

Indeed - dead pigs are frequently used for human analogues in MythBusters, much to Kari's frequent disgust at having to handle them.

It could be much worse and I respect the discretion authorities legitimately have over there to perform the practice in question. However, I strongly object and am utterly disgusted.
