and a switch to a national popular vote system affect turnout in the US Presidential Elections ?

Would turnout rise overall because candidates would focus mostly on states like CA, TX, NY, IL etc. which currently have low turnout because they are uncontested ?

Would states like MN, WI, IA, CO, VA still have high turnout ?

What could be done that candidates also visit or focus on small states during their campaign ?

I think a switch to a popular vote system wouldn't change a lot in really small states, because they are already not visited now either.

But more money would have to be spent on the bigger states. A lot more money ...

What do you think ?
