When I become SoFA, I plan on making a new register thread.  The register thread will include a short paragraph on each party describing what their political stance is and whatever.

I would like the parties themselves to write these paragraphs as I would be probably be biased towards my own party and leave details out on the others.  Post them in this thread along with a link you would like next to your party names for visitors to check out for more information.  Keep the paragraphs brief but informative!

I would also like Peter Bell to add a few more questions and add the ILP/ACP to the SelectSmart quiz if possible.

there is no point to a short paragraph it should be in the forum HQ. its going to be another 100 page thread so no body is goign to be looking at the first page.

I like this idea.  There is a point to writing a short paragraph, because Most people aren't going to bother to check the HQ's.  It is helpful, I think.

Could we eliminate all non-registering (aside from the SoFA introduction post) posts from the new thread, and create a seperate discussion thread?

The only reason it is a hundred or so pages long is because of endless comments.  It wouldn't become a hundred page thread for a long time anyway and even then, they might read the first page just to see what the thread is about.

I like the headquarters, but I just don't think people are influenced by it as they register first and read second.  Especially with such vague political party info.

I am working on it.  I also need to get the SoFA website and stuff done.

Also, can somebody open the census this Friday at Noon EST?  I won't be able to do it.  Personally, I think it should start at midnight like elections.

King, here is a copy of the HQ plus updated info, links, and parties:

Here on the fantasy elections board, we the citizens of the forum have created a government established in the Constitution of the United Atlas Forum.  There have been several amendments to the Constitution.  Our government consists of an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a judicial branch just like the U.S. Government.

The executive branch is made up of the President, the Vice President, and the various cabinet members.  For more information on the makeup and duties of the executive branch of the government, click here.

The legislative branch is made up of one body, the senate.  The senate consists of ten members, each elected from one of five districts encompassing all the states in the United States.  Each district elects two senators.  To see a map of the districts, click here.  For more information on the duties of the senate, click here.   For a list of bills that have been signed into law, click here

The judicial branch consists solely of the Forum Supreme Court.  The court is made up of three members who convene to decide the constitutionality of forum legislation and to settle electoral disputes.  For more information on the duties of the Supreme Court, click here.

In addition to the federal government, the fantasy government consists of five governors and their deputies.  The governors are elected from regions, which are static regardless of voter registration.  Each region has its own consitution.  For links to each region's constitutions, click here.  For a map of the regions, click here.

Here is a list of Atlas Forum Office Holders.

For a list of registered voters, please visit the Office of the Secretary of Forum Affairs

For more information on Fantasy Politics, visit the Atlas Fantasy Elections Archives maintained by Attorney General, Peter Bell.

Fantasy politics are dominated by four major parties: the AFRNC (or Atlas Forum Republican Party), the ILP (or Independent Liberal Party), the CUP (or Constitutional Union Party), and the Freedom Party. In addition, there are a number of smaller parties that play a role in forum politics, including the AFDNC (or Atlas Forum Democratic Party), the Atlasian Conservative party, the United Left Party, and the Farmer Labor Party.  Use the links below to reach each of the parties' websites and forums.

To vote in fantasy elections, one must register 10 days in advance of the election in which one wishes to vote.  18 posts are required for registration to be considered valid.  To register to vote, click here and post your name, the party you wish to be identified with, and your home state.  If you have a foriegn avatar, or an avatar from a state other than your state of registration, you must put a message in your signature indicating your state of registration.

Please do not post in this thread except to point out omissions or mistakes in my original post.

You should include Siege's paper, and take out the Mid-Atlantic News, replaced by a link to Atlasian News Tonight.

Rather than requesting that people not post, just go ahead and lock the thread King so that it won't become a yamptthnolatfpatatwpoit (yet another multi-page thread that has no one looking at the first page and thus annuling the whole purpose of it thread).

I think Ernest meant the READ FIRST thread, not the registration thread.

The Atlas Fantasy Election Archive on my website will soon be taken offline. Most of the info has been moved to the Wiki. This link should be replaced with one to the Wiki.

The quiz needs to be updated on several fronts, if I have time I will do it, but it could be a couple of weeks before I do.

I think the links to the Constitution and the executive, et al, should be changed to the Wiki links to related articles. Since I believe the entire Demrepdan constitution is up on the Wiki I don't believe this will cause a problem.
