Looks likes Walmart is supporting Obama this election cycle, and it's becoming a backlash.

I hope Chinamart fails, then we can go back to supporting stuff made in the US.   Looks like I might have to shop at Whole Foods and King Soopers (branch of Kroger) more often.

Meh, a lot of Walmart shoppers are actually Democrats. Though maybe more of the "silent majority" kind.

Or of the non-white kind.

As a local business, I can't complain about supporting local business.......but Walmart employs a ton of people.....their failure would not be great news for anyone.

Get a real source and we will discuss.  Isn't the Washington Examiner a right wing hack paper that is given out for free in DC?

'Local business'?  Where do you people think you are?  Are you going shopping in a time-machine or something?

There are lots of local businesses, just not in places Republicans live. Dense little urban shops are frequently small local operations. Suburban strip malls not so much.

I would imagine, then, that some or many of the Republican "small business" owners (which include a disproportionate number of Tea Party types) are franchise owners (making them connected to large corporations), or people who made some $$$ by selling one or more businesses, or people who are classified as "small business" owners even though they have as many as 100+ employees, or perhaps some rich types who are considered "small business" even though they have a large amount of wealth.

Bottom line is, the precise classification of "small business" can vary, and include a lot of establishments that really have little to nothing in common with "mom-and-pop" shops. I would imagine that much of the Republican bias among "small business owners" comes from the aforementioned factors listed above.

I never saw local businesses much in America.  Now over here they are still common, but obviously they'll be wiped out american-style within another decade.
