Ideologically-objectionable beliefs are not lies. They may be biases, but they cannot be disproved. Many Republicans are still convinced that President Obama is the Antichrist, the reincarnation of Der Phooey, the Devil Incarnate, or (if you are a Red Sex fan) Derek Jeter.

Contradiction of one's core beliefs is not a lie. A Commie or fascist who clearly states his views is not a liar for expressing his opinions. Contradiction of reality is either a lie or folly. Contradiction of a previously-held position without admitting that such is indeed a change is a form of lie.

I checked out your link.  I didn't read all of it.  It was pretty good.  The comedic value was high.  This is my favorite...



So the GOP is saying that the $4 Trillion figure Obama threw out may be off by a fudge factor of $2 billion over TEN years?!  Horror!

Anyone care to tell me when the last time in the past 30 years anyone accurately predicted a Federal budget savings within $2 Billion ten years out?  If this is the coup de grâce I'm likin' Obama's chances.

The ad was a political disaster for Romney. You can't write off 47 % of a country, and hope to win an election. It just comes across as being out of touch and favouring the rich, which is what Romney does.

The thing is, I bet a lot of people who watched the debate will actually believe that Romney did explain why it won't be a five trillion dollar tax cut (even though he didn't explain it very clearly at all). The new perceptions are that Romney defended himself very well and that Obama's attacks are a distraction. I don't think these adds will work. As long as Romney makes himself seem credible, Obama's stuck in a catch-22.
