This is comedy gold. It's a Sep 8 analysis of the electoral map. Among the tossup states are Oregon, Minnesota and New Mexico. And an encouraging sign for Republicans- New Jersey looks like it could be a tossup this year!

My favorite quotes:

"New Hampshire will return to its historical pattern of voting for the Republican nominee. New Hampshire leans Republican."

"Florida is a key state where skewed media polls and those who wish to believe them rather than know how the race actually stands, cause many to buy into the perception that Obama is running stronger than he is"

"The RCP average (in VA) is 47.3 percent Obama to 46.7 Romney, which includes the PPP poll showing Obama leading by five percent, which is clearly an outlier."

And may favorite reader quote:

"Is the examiner like the onion?"

I truly feel sorry for the American people- it really has become difficult for find objective news these days. I mean it really does take a lot of work and time to simply find what the facts are and it's even harder to find non-biased analysis as to what the facts mean.

bear in mind that examiner.com is kind of like wikipedia. Everyday people submit articles to the site.

This guy is worse than some Atlas posters. He has his own numbers and they are very different. Today he posted that the "real" Gallup poll showed Mitt leading by 5 not trailing by 5. Essentially an internet troll using Examiner.com.

You can do it yourself, write articles about how Obama is "really" leading in Texas. Examiner.com will probably put them up.

And yet unsuspecting people happen upon this article and think its legitimate. It's truly one of the perils of citizen journalism.

Here is his LOL assessment of the race following the DNC

This guy would actually fit in pretty well here.

"Statistical tie" is a phrase that makes statisticians want to drink heavily, so if I appear to be drunk-posting at any point, you'll know why. And I think some of the posters here would sooner renounce their religions than the sanctity of party ID.

Ahh yes, I certainly remember those unshakable bastions of support Obama had in TN, AR, WV, and AZ.

The real question is: do hacks like this actually believe this BS? Or they cynically think that the right wing audience are such rubes that they need to be reassured?  Of course for years they have been saying not to trust the media, so that surely extends to not trusting polls you read in the media, but at some point do they really think their readers/viewers are that stupid?

sorry now that I wrote that out, I think I answered my own question.

EDIT: Another gem of analysis from Morris

I did some GOTV in the Morgantown, WV area. Supposedly I was only hitting confirmed Democrats, but those people slammed doors in my face like I was selling herpes. That map is just bizarre.
