I'll never understand why those that can't agree with us on this issue can't be mature enough to grasp why we believe the government ought to be involved: it's a life...

Probably because the rest of the time you guys are busy taking innocent lives whether it be in Iraq or in a penitentiary in Texas.  The "It's a life!!!!" argument never stopped you guys before.  We find it odd that all of a sudden you are getting all up into a 16 year old rape victim's uterus to protect "life."  Seems like an odd and somewhat hackish place to draw the line.

First off, before anything else: I'm pro-choice.

Next, you can't really compare convicted murderers and enemy combatants to babies (and keep in mind really pro-life people view fetuses as babies; such a view has flaws but then what doesn't?); to do so is horribly dishonest and is a big show of hackishness.

I don't think the Obama team thinks they can win on their economic record. Now obviously we disagree on his record, but that's not the issue here. It's whether Team Obama think they can win. And I don't think they think they can. I think Obama is using a largely base mobilization strategy, using issues like gay marriage and abortion to drive up base turnout among white liberals, relying on a black turnout that will probably be just as high as in 2008, and hoping "Bain is evil" depresses independent turnout enough so that Romney doesn't have enough people to build a winning coalition. And it could very much work.

GOP Platform:  The government should only care about poor people when they're in the womb.  Once they're out, they're on their own.

It's all about the messaging. The talk is all about the fetus with little or no empathy for the woman, even in the case of rape.   I think some people here need to talk to an actual girl about this stuff

From the Republicans' point of view, it's probably best if Romney and Ryan avoid the issue of abortion for the rest of the campaign.

It's all about the messaging.
Politically perhaps, logically no.
The talk is all about the fetus with little or no empathy for the woman, even in the case of rape.
when discussing the laws protecting life and defining life yes the subject will be mentioned.  That doesn't mean their is no empathy.
I think some people here need to talk to an actual girl about this stuff
Lol, what does that even mean?  I'm guessing you think women have some monolithic opinion. False.
