When I saw the picture, I thought of a intern I work with who has a full blown beard, and as it so happens, is exactly one week older then me :0 He must of looked like Ryan in that picture in seventh grade.

Henry Davis was 80 years old?  I didn't know that.  I can't really imagine an 80 year old being nominated for veep in the modern era, and lifespans are much longer now than they were in 1904!

Does anyone think that Ryan or Palin being selected was a reflection of Obama's youth and inexperience?

The bar has been lowered to who can win a presidential election.  Granted Obama has an "x factor" of charisma, natural intelligence, and warm personality. 

But it has made the media and political strategists more willing to take a chance on someone flashy, young, and seemingly charismatic.  Hence the media attention for Rubio. 

Have both parties been suckered into creating the biggest "handsome media Celebrity" ticket to attract voters, instead of relying on other important experience factors? 

I wonder if Romney was worried about a lack of media attention if he picked boring VP's like Portman or Pawlenty?

I'm aware, but not all military vets are and I think he could empathize with those that aren't as fortunate as he. When one side considers veterans' disability checks "welfare", I think we know what that side truly thinks of our veterans.
