Do the Republicans have a decent candidate or is Feinstein a lock? This looks like it's going to be a boring election in California this year.

Safe Feinstein. Republicans can't win statewide, so best bet is to back the DLC Dems and especially their queen regnant DiFi.

Republicans only have a shot in the case of major scandal or a massive nationwide wave.  Not sure who the best theoretical candidate would be - Richard Riordan? (81 going on 82...)  Tom Campbell?  Pete Wilson? (78 going on 79...)

The filing deadline already passed. The California Republican Party endorsed Elizabeth Emken, whose entire political experience is from coming in fourth in the 2010 CA-11 primary. (The endorsement is because of the new open primary law.)

But hey, Orly Taitz is also running!

Feinstein landslide. Similar to 2006.

I'm no fan of DiFi, but she's going to win this. Maybe I'll vote Orly Taitz in June for the LOLs.

We have a jungle primary now. For shame.

Fienstein will win, and win BIG. Republicans have nobody in this race.

The Republican candidates in this race are hilariously awful. None of them have ever held elective office before.

Is there any chance a democrat, or at least a non-republican gets into the runoff?

Probably not. Feinstein's already a moderate Democrat and pretty much uncontroversial to a large part of the population ranging from Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, moderate whites in the suburbs and even conservative blue dog whites in the central valley. She might have some detractors in SF, Berkeley and Venice, but they are mostly irrelevant. Easy Feinstein landslide, and she would probably win even if she were caught eating fetuses.
