does Michele Bachmann's ill-fated run for president sort of remind you of Phil Crane running in 1980? It kind of does in the sense that both were considered unserious congresmen (or unserious congresswomen) without any major legislation but were both the leaders of a new renegade of conservative members of congress. Both were also from the midwest representing districts on the outskirts of a major metro area (Crane in Chicago and Bachmann in twin cities).
Also, Crane managed to make it in time for the filing deadline to run for re-election in his old district and managed to serve in congress for another 20 or so years. Do you think the same happens to Bachmann?
