perhaps it's not the old people who are so bad as it is the crackhead mommas or the candyland food stampers who are so wasteful (unless they are old crackhead mommas or candyland food stampers, in which case its double bad)

Yes, because everyone who cannot afford to feed their family MUST be a cocaine addict.

The AARP poses one of the greatest threats to this country that could possibly be conceived -- an organization dedicated to getting the most of the public dole for the old at the expense of future generations.
I'm sick and tired of old people thinking they somehow deserve preferential treatment.  It is NICE of someone to give such treatment, but by no means required.  And it is sickening to see old people think they are somehow superior over other people and deserve more of the public funds.  More pension.  More medicare.  More government help.  More that.  More that.  More more more more more.

If you want more, WORK.

This goes double for students and people with disorders.

The converse is usually true though.

Not true. There are plenty of white collar cocaine addicts. It's just that they do it privately and as long as they maintain their job people turn a blind eye.

Wow, breathe, dude.

I had a friend who lived in an apartment with his mother - he was in poverty. His mother worked two jobs, and he did as well. As a consequence, his grades slipped and he did not get to go to the college he wanted to go to, despite being mathematically brilliant.

There are some lazy people who refuse work, but you would be misinformed if you think everyone who gets welfare is.

Pension is welfare.  People receiving pension are people that are too lazy to work and think they're entitled to sit on their asses and get money.

I appear to be seeing things... have you just accused the elderly of being:

"too lazy to work and think they're entitled to sit on their asses and get money."

Huh??
Abso'lutely.  If you're in good health, you should work.  There is no excuse, not even age, for not doing work in order to sustain yourself.  If you have enough money, more power to you.  If you don't, work.  Being a parasite and receiving stolen money from other people that actually worked for it is disgusting and criminal in my mind.

I wonder if Richius has any elderly relatives?

No... but I do agree with his first statement... if you are in good health, you should work.  I think they should raise the retirment age, at least a few years.
