Politico, certainly. He thinks Romney could plausibly win every state but Hawaii were he nominated. Not even Paultards reach that level of delusion about their hero's prospects.

Wonkish possibly is Newt Gingrich, and being a hack for yourself is slightly forgivable if a little arrogant.

By pure level of hackery, it is a tough choice. But I would say Politico.

Romney's the safe choice, the choice people go to after they have been filled with hackery goodness of the other flavors. I figure to be soo enthusiastic about Romney takes an extra amount of effort.

That's my thinking, too. Romney hackery feels phony, like the hack is desperately trying to be enthusiastic about a candidate who defines "meh".
