You need to list, in order, a place*, a left-winger**, and a right-winger***

You must first pick a place*, which is ideally a country, or, is a sub-national entity like a state or province. Ideally this is a place that many people will know about - IE the UK is better than Bhutan.

Next, a left-winger** from that place. Most of the time this is not a problem, but there are places, like Israel, Quebec, Northern Ireland, etc, where the normal left-right spectrum is skewed by other issues. In that case pick the generally accepted left VS right split. If you are confused, ask me.

Lastly, a right-winger*** also from that place. IE the opposite of the left-winger. Once you are done the list, save it but do not post it just yet.

Here are some examples:

Northern Ireland, Gerry Adams, Ian Paisley
Canada, Jack Layton, Stephen Harper
Australia, Julia Gillard, Tony Abbot,

You must then pick the place from the post right above you, the left-winger from two posts up, and the right-winger from three posts up. In this case

Australia, Jack Layton, Ian Paisley.

Then you pick the winner. (Layton) Maps get bonus points!!!
Lastly, you then submit your list.

Using the 3 above, and mine:
Germany, Gerhard Scrhoder, Angela Merkel.

Now the next person must do Germany with Gillard VS Harper, etc...

(if people can get the hang of it this thread has the potential to be 1,000 more interesting than the other one where you are stuck in the US)

Also - you can pick any politician who served since Jan 1 1970

Schroeder, because even though Abbot's Catholic I can't see him having much of a natural constituency in Italy.

Japan, Murata Renhō, Koike Yuriko.

Merkel would win pretty easily against Vendola in Japan, I guess.

Basque Country, Arnaldo Otegi, Jaime Mayor Oreja

I think Bossi would have the edge.

Great, so I have to choose between a Basque and Japanese politician to win in Prince Edward Island? Why not a Moldovan and a Mauritanian in The Andamans?

Arnaldo Otegi, I guess, based on near enough to nothing.

Russia, Mikhail Gorbachev, Vladimir Putin

Seems like you both got it wrong. Conley should have chosen between Jaime Mayor  Oreja and Robert Ghiz in a Russian election.
