Held this year in Australia, at Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

A hybrid series merging Gaelic football an Australian football, the games are played annually switching between the two nations.

In the first match of the aggregate-points competition, Ireland leads 50-23 in the third quarter and play has been halted due to a big fight after a massive bump on an Irish guy, sent off with a stiff necklace. Interesting to see what's next...

It's an amusing game... as someone I heard in a ABC comedy debate when you were but a bub... "it's played in 3 equal halves".

We picked a team of smalls, giving up our main advantage, physicality. 80-36 is the result.

Impressive result.

There is a sense among the GAA that the AFL are losing interest in the series generally.

Which may be true, but would be a shame.

Game two has started at Carrara. Cararra? No, Carrara. I think.

Anyway, Australia needs to win by 45 points, and are currently behind 8-9.

...and Ireland wins 50-29. Well done to them, but disgraceful in almost every way by Australia.
