I'm going to look into the possibility of me running for Senate in February. I know it seems like a long way away, but I thought I'd see what support I can get

If elected, here's a proposed (provisional - I'm open to moar ideas/changing these a little) platform:
1. Create a fair trade act to protect Atlasian jobs against unfair competition
2. Create a student grants program for poorer Atlasians
3. Restore the Glass-Steagall Act
4. Completely legalize and regulate psychedelic drugs, and look at decriminalizing harder drugs.
5. Strengthen anti-trust acts to help in the creation of a genuinely free, dynamic market.

Even so, the JCP nominee ought to be someone who has shown a commitment to the region first. This is nothing against Winston personally. I'd like to see him run for Assembly.

That might be so but considering you a) only recently returned to the game (I've been here nearly a year and haven't met you yet) and b) apparently have a history of changing ideologies (even while holding office), I think you will understand why I will not be able to support you as my successor. If you'd like to remove these doubts, run for Assembly and prove to us why you'll make a good Senator in the future.

As someone who knows Winston for a long time I can say he indeed transformed, a while ago, from libertarian to leftist, but is committed to leftist causes consistently since. Painting him as some compulsive flip-flooper would be unfair.

While I can understand Napoleon's concern about the fact Winston just recently returned after longer absence, he both have principles and experience.

If someone else of the JCP is interested in running, then the issue deserves to be debated. But if Winston is the only one who indends to run it would make no sense to go looking for another candidate.

As the Northeast Chair, the candidates we run reflect on me as well. We are a young party and we need to do things right. Winston, I would really like to work with you in the Assembly.
