Governor Chris Christie is ending tax credit's for the production of MTV's Jersey Shore in the state due to feeling that the highly controversial has made the state and it's residents look bad in terms of NJ's image.

The move has gotten applause from member's of both political parties in New Jersey,

Not sure how to put in those little movie clip things or whatever, but if I could, I'd put one with some guy clapping or something like that.

In a reality television culture, somehow a 17 year old watching this mindless garbage doesn't surprise me.  Of course, I'd expect that 17 year old to be female, but hey, I guess it doesn't matter.

Thank you Jesus! Hopefully MTV will go back to showing music videos again, and none of the mindless sh*t it has nowadays. Jersey Shore has got to be one of the most tasteless and disgusting excuses for television out there.

I assume nobody here would be defending the implementation of the tax credits in the first instance. Some of these specialized tax credits are nothing more than crony capitalism, and in all events can't really be defended I don't think.  Just why government should dump money in the pocket of some for profit companies and not others totally escapes me. It is an open invitation to corruption. It kind of reminds me of these "green" company government loan guarantees that for some reason seem to go to companies staffed by relatives of Dem politicians (Pelosi's brother just cashed in btw) or big contributors. Fancy that.  Amazing!  Tongue

Lol.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey does make the state seem like a nice place to live, but then again they all live in Franklin Lakes. If they filmed an episode in say Patterson or Newark, people might view the state differently.

Hell, Jersey Shore makes humanity look bad. If aliens saw that stuff, they'd probably hotbox the planet.

Wait, wait, wait. The State of New Jersey was subsidising 'reality' television?

It was a subsidy for all television and movies shot in New Jersey. Pretty much every state has one.
