went republican later; should the democrats have purposely have lost all those congressional districts? I'm also talking about the state legislatures where there are probably hundreds of legislative seats that went D in 1994 but later went R. It frustrated the democrats in 96 98 00 02 and 04 when they were picking up so many districts only to have it offset by gop gains. I think what helped the GOP is that they lost just about every possible district in 06 and 08 so they focus on what to win back and what to write off. I even remember krazy saying a while back how it was a good thing that they lost districts like CT 4 or CT 5.

Either of those CT districts could go Republican. CT-2 is probably gone for good and we should retain it even if Courtney retired.
