?

It should be noted that historically, candidates drop out of the race whenever they run out of $.  But in principle, there's nothing to stop a candidate from running a campaign with no money, like Gingrich is now.....It just requires them to be satisfied with participating in debates and doing campaign events within walking distance of their house.

He definitely got the raw end in the debate. I think he did bad, but Bachmann really didn't own him with facts. He had facts. She had rhetoric.

With Pawlenty gone I'd say the next one will be out of these three: Cain, Santorum and Gingrich. Ultimately the race will come down to Bachmann, Perry and Romney.

Huntsman, Santorum drops out after New Hampshire.

Cain, Gingrich drop out after South Carolina.

McCotter drops out after Michigan.

Bachmann drops out at some point.

Romney drops out at some point.

Perry is the nominee.

Huntsman drops out after New Hampshire.
Santorum, Gingrich drop out after South Carolina.
Cain drops out after he loses Georgia to Perry
Bachmann drops out after the March 6th primaries, where Perry and Romney expand delegate leads too great over her
Romney and Paul ride their last hurrah to the bitter end in Utah, unable to accept defeat at the hands of Rick Perry.  They also both beat Perry in Utah.

I mean he might be somewhat of a contender if he runs a Jimmy Carter election strategy but that's a big if

Some may be politically dead but never drop out. Some of this cast of characters are working from a different play book than anything to do with the odds of getting the silver. Paul for example is never going to drop out. Newt will keep going as long as he gets any media attention at all.

Why would Cain drop out as one of the first? He's got nothing to lose.

If you have sex with a Switzerland person and use Swiss cheese as a condom, is that incest?

Nothing to lose pretty much describes this entire field, sans Bachmann and Perry, who still have jobs.
