There has been considerable attention paid to the candidacy of Texas Governor Rick Perry over the past few days, but little attention to his record.

Like Donald Trump, Perry has enjoyed a surge of support in the polls as a consequence of deliberately taking on Obama and his cronies.

However, when thoughtful people take a look at his record in Texas, they become very uneasy about his candidacy.

Perry is more of an erratic populist than a conservative.

I suspect that once people look at his total record, his support base will collapse.

Trump with a twang.

And a record.

It's a bit unfair to Perry to equate him with a know-nothing who shoots off his mouth.

Gary Johnson showed that the media doesn't care about results. It seems to be a mudslinging contest. If the candidates were elected on results Johnson would be polling in double-digits.

Good point, there is a difference between no record and an incredibly sh*tty record.

Equating Perry to Trump is silly.  Trump would have had a chance in Colorado and Nevada.

^^^^^

I'm wondering this too. Bachmann perhaps? There doesn't seem to be a perfect fit for him this time (like Tancredo was last time).

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

In fact, there's even a difference between an incredibly sh**tty business record and an incredibly sh**tty gubernatorial record. (What doesn't change, of course, is the unconscionably ridiculous spin.)
