Easily emoviolence. I can't think of any emoviolence band worse than Limp Bizkit.

Nu metal, easily. Some of that stuff is actually good, which is more than can be said for emoviolence.

Nu-metal isn't real metal. Any actual metalhead would love to give anyone who claims so a black eye.

Still, superior to anything emo-

No metalhead would ever vote nu-metal over emoviolence, provided they actually know what emoviolence is instead of just assuming.

Well, I'd probably vote for Mitt Romney over emoviolence.

Nu metal is pretty much a disgrace to music.

I mean seriously compare this to this or this.

Ben Stiller circa Zoolander, the Twin Towers alive and well, Limp Bizkit... Now I'm nostalgic for the early 00s!

So? I can understand what Ke$ha is saying in her songs. And I have little difficulty understanding the lyrics to that Portraits of Past song anyway.

This reminds me of what this hardcore atheist guy said as to why he could listen to Christian hardcore: the lyrics can't bother him if he can't understand them anyway.

Not to equate the two in any way, but you'd be surprised at how many otherwise regular metalheads listen to Nazi black metal because they "can't understand it anyway," or "only care about the music, man." Not even just bands that flirt with corny paganism themes or crypto-fascist imagery, I mean flat out white power 1488 sh**t. Awful.

Listened to about a minute of the Lim Bizkit one, listened to about three seconds of the second one. You win. That Lim Bizkit sh**t was so awful that almost anything following it could've beaten it, and while I didn't really like the music following it, it did display some sort of instrumental skill beyond some idiot saying "back it up" a million times and pretending to be ghetto.

You know when you consider that Fred Durst actually directed that video it adds a whole new level to it. Not just about how utterly talentless he is but also about his ego (seriously a bunch of hot girls dancing dressed like him?)

BRTD will hate me for this, but that Funeral Diner song actually reminds me of melodic death metal.

In what way? The vocals are way too high and the riffs aren't anything like metal. Maybe there's some similarity in the drumming...

Vocals actually sound a lot like Arch Enemy. But I think the main thing that made me think of it was that the guitar is very melodic, much more so than in the Ampere or Hatred Surge videos I've seen you link to. Of course, I have rather different notions of melody than most people.

Hatred Surge aren't any type of emo at all, they're straight up powerviolence. Ampere have a lot of melodic parts but they don't play them very long because their songs in general are always so short.

Funeral Diner had the drummer of Portraits of Past from that other video, who also clearly had a lot of melody, and a lot of emo bands of that style do. Just note this for example. Only a few bands play that really thrashy style that makes up most of Ampere's songs. Ampere for example is one band from ex-members of The Last Forty Seconds, the other is this one and TLFS sounded much more like the latter band (but aren't on YouTube.)

As was just demonstrated, I prefer some melody.

Then we'll auto-tune it first.
