Thank God.  I won't go so far as to say that Serbia is now in the clear on becoming a full-fledged EU candidate for admission, but this arrest alone brings them leaps and bounds closer to joining the European Union.

What is it with Serbian war criminals looking a bit like Welsh politicians? Mladic looks just a little bit too much like Dafydd Iwan, while Karadzic looked vaguely like Rhodri Morgan (though it may just have been a shared taste for truly terrible hair).

I will not stand by and watch the best thing about Karadzic being insulted here. Karadzic's hairdo is the guy's only positive realisation.
