Egypt's caretaker government has held crisis talks after attacks by Muslim mobs on Coptic Christian churches in Cairo left at least 12 people dead and drove the country's growing religious tensions to the brink.

I wonder if this military tribunal is just a way to quietly release the attackers or whether it will really punish them. A good test to see if this new government is really concerned with human rights.

It must be hard to run a country with so many bigots in it.

From what I'm hearing the attackers shouldn't be counting on too lenient a treatment. it should be pointed out that this is probably the worst time ever to go Copt-bashing with your friends. The provisional regime has its international standing to think about and right now Egyptian justice and its military tribunals are still exceptionally swift and unforgiving in the wake of the Tahrir-revolution. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these people were looking at 10 years in a Military prison or more. Egyptian Military prisons being about as bad as prisons get outside of the world's real sh*tholes.
