Oak Hill, WV

The other day, I was in Logan, and an old man stopped me in the street and asked me why I'm running for Senate.

Now that's a question that most politicans dread, and often with good reason.

Not me.

I am running for Senate because I want to help the ordinary working people of this district.
I am running for Senate because I want to pass good laws and kill bad ones, and let's face it if a certain Senator for the West gets re-elected this time around we're going to see a lot of those...
I am running for Senate because I am sick to death of the partisan bickering that has disfigured our political process over the past few years.
I am running for Senate because it's time for change in Nyman.
I am running for Senate because I want freedom for everyone, not just the rich, and justice for all, not just the lawyers.

Excellent answer. I agree with everything that you said, however, I fail to see how the current incumbent has not upheld these principles in her term in the Senate.

Texasgurl has a strong relationship with the AFRNC and in some ways the UAC. That, in Al's perspective, makes her incapable of "passing good laws and killing bad ones"

Citizen King, I did not say or mean to say anything like what you sir have just suggested that I said.
I am deeply offended by what you appear to be saying and I fear that you may be trying to poison the minds of the good people of the Third District against my candidacy.
I want a clean campaign on the issues and not a dirty campaign conducted by people who do not live in the district.

If you look at the numbers, we are actually farther to the right than your party. Tongue

I proudly endourse Al for Senator of the third District.  Al has spent most of his life as a devoted servant to the people of Atlasia and an outstanding avocate of the working class.

We may have our disagreements, but I believe that there is much we can accomplish together in the Senate.

God speed, Al.

Secretary General Al, my apologies, I didn't know you wanted a clean campaign.  (saves comments for dirty campaigns)

I wouldn't say she has a strong relationship with the UAC.  She has a good relationship with the UAC, which means we have nothing against her personally and consider her to be a fine Senator.

Akron, OH

When I was a kid, this City was called "the rubber capital of the world", and with good reason: over 90% of Atlasian tyres were made right here in Akron, Ohio.

It's not called that any more

The Tyre companies closed the factories that made Akron, leaving the inevitable bitter legacy.
In there defense they point out that there's still research and administrative jobs in Akron and gabble on in a language that might as well be from Mars, about "service economies", "digital network economies", yadda yadda yadda.

If I am elected Senator I promise to you all that I will try to stop companies outsources jobs, and if for whatever reason, they do, I will fight to bring new jobs, real jobs, better jobs to areas devasted by outsourcing.

This isn't ideology, this is common sense. A happy workforce with real secure jobs is a more productive workforce. A more productive workforce means higher profits for the company in question, more money being spent in the retail sector and generally a better and more stable economy.

Manufacturing made this country and when politicians just sit on their hands and do nothing to even sooth the pain of job losses, it's a crying shame.

Though we've had our differences, let me express my support for Al in this election.  He's a man who recognizes the importance of faith and the teachings of the Good Book, and the role it plays not only in government, but in society as a whole.

An airport somewhere in D3...

I'll make this quick... I would like a debate with the incumbent Senator and for it to be moderated by someone with no vested interest in the outcome of the race.

St Paul, MN

So then I hear you ask... what about fiscal responsibility? It's a big issue for a lot of voters. I understand that and I understand why.

Let me reassure you that if I'm given a choice between spending like a druken sailor or watching every damn penny, I'll do the latter.

I think that if we amalgamate a lot of related social programmes, we can give you all better services at a a lower cost and with less of that annoying red tape...  and I will be happy to work with Senators from other parties to achieve this goal.
Why should government spending be yet another destructive partisan issue?
