I wonder how Feingold and Johnson would do in a hypothetical rematch.

Hey at least it means he's on track to come back with Kohl retiring.

Kohl needs to retire and let Feingold have the seat. This race will become competetive again late like it did last time. We need Feingold to take on Ryan.

And then Feingold can lose again in six years when he continues to fail to build up any goodwill among Wisconsinites.

Kohl's retiring?

I guess I already forgot those rumors weren't confirmed. Still it'd be hardly surprising if he does.

Obviously, I really hope Kohl retires, Feingold runs, and Feingold wins the nomination and the general, it's just that none of those can be taken for granted (especially Kohl's retirement).

This election will of course be close even if a no name Republican runs, such is the nature of Wisconsin.

And then Feingold can lose again in six years when he continues to fail to build up any goodwill among Wisconsinites.

Still, 6 years is better than 0 years.

The only good thing about this poll is that they finally quit on dangling Tommy Thompson's name into races as though he is ever going to run for anything.

Probably not. PPP has polled it twice and Ryan's about 7-8 points behind. He would be competitive, but he'd be a big underdog, especially since Kohl's financial resources are essentially unlimited. Either way, Ryan's not going to run.
