...for horses!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/49689.html

A Republican representative has introduced a spending bill amendment aimed at promoting the use of contraception – by horses.
Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.) introduced the amendment, which would control the population of wild horses and burros as an alternative to the costly practice of capturing the animals and holding them in pens, which the Bureau of Land Management currently employs.

The amendment would modify the budget to bar “funds made available by this Act [from being] used for the gathers and removals of free-roaming wild horses and burros, except for the purpose of fertility control.”
Burton’s amendment comes as Republicans seek to cut off funding for Title X, the only federal program devoted to family planning among humans.

Good God, there's a federal program devoted to family planning among humans? Is there anything that government thinks people are capable of doing on their own?

Anyone with an outside child certainly would not believe in birth control for humans.

It's a program that provides funding for clinics that prevent unintended pregnancies, provide contraceptives and information for lower income families. If you hate "welfare bums" and "druggies", why would you be against such of a program?

I'm an all or nothing type of person on these kind of things, either we sterilize the too dumb to breed and perform forced abortions on the too poor to feed or we just let everyone take care of themselves in that regard. Frankly, I don't think this program prevented many unwanted pregnancies, it's not like condoms are a hot commodity that can't be bought by 99% Americans who intend to use them.

Most conservative Republicans who aren't Catholics don't oppose birth control...
