How many elected Republican officials are there in the Bay Area? Federally there aren't any I know that, but local races seem to have more bipartisan results. I know the new DA of Contra Costa County is a Republican, and the Mayor of San Ramon is, but are there many others?

The mayor of San Ramon is a non partisan position. You should keep that in mind. Most cities around here are non partisan, I think.

From what I've heard, all local offices in California are non-partisan.

They are.  But the individual in question can still be a member of one party or the other.

Of course, but who is going to advertise being a Republican in the Bay Area?

Your threads on Republicans in places where there are clearly no Republicans are getting kind of silly, IMO.

Every jurisdiction in the Bay Area voted for Obama, most by large margins. There's no reason for anyone to be a Republican here.

Atherton might have some openly Republican officials. It is registered overwhelmingly Republican, although it voted solidly for Obama and also for Kerry.

The rather few Republicans in the Bay Area bear little resemblance to the Republicans in say, Ohio or Virginia or Texas.

David Harmer is as batsh**t crazy as those. He wants to ban public schools.

I'm sure there are a few left in municipal offices, being that everything is non-partisan down at that level and getting elected is about local issues. Most of the communities where Republicans would likely hold local offices are in CA-11, CA-12 and CA-14.
