It's not smart to even mention race unless you are going directly from script.

As to the tone of the comment, I've seen probably worse stuff than that go across their ticker from people texting in messages. And, we can't forget Lindsey Graham's "not enough angry white guys" comment, so overall, meh. You just cannot go there with race.
