Source: The Raw Story

The hosts of Fox News Fox & Friends have offered up a theory as to who could be the next President of the United States. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, they say, is the most likely person to take Barack Obama's place in Washington. "The American people lost faith in the current liberal administration, so they turned to the Tea Party. However, Tuesday's election results suggest that the Tea Party is a tad too extreme for the average Joe. Therefore, a moderate Republican is probably the best bet. Scott Brown has said he isn't running, it seems unlikely that either Maine Senators Collins and Snowe will throw their hats into the ring, so who does that leave? Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. He's still fairly well-respected for his post-9/11 leadership, his socially liberal views will likely persuade some Democrats to jump on his bandwagon, and his fiscally conservative and strong foreign policy beliefs will keep most Republicans on board. This White House and the Tea Party may have unintentionally chosen the next President of the United States."

The problem is, though, Giuliani will have to win the Tea Party over, and I can't see that happening. A Giuliani nomination could likely lead to a strong third party challenge.

There is just one tiny little problem with this analysis: there is no way that Giuliani could win the Republican primary.

Pure fantasy.  Did anyone notice the quality of the campaign Rudy ran last time.  Epic fail.

He couldn't take a state, he's too Liberal for the GOP, he's extremely old news, he hasn't held elected office since 2002, and he hasn't held anything above the level of Mayor. Therefore, he can't win. The best possible Rudy scenario Alternate history wise is that Republicans lost in 2000 and he's the 2004 nominee. Either that, or Rudy is elected to the Senate or the Governorship sometime post-9/11. Rudy's claim to the Republican nomination would be better if he had decided to run for the Senate in 2010 against Kirsten Gillibrand and won. Giuliani decided against it, and is most likely leaving the political scene for good.

What's your recent obsession with Giuliani? Is it your wet dream that we're stuck with far-leftists in both major parties?

No thanks. One liberal party is more than enough.

So does he still support partial-birth abortion?

The more realistic solution would be to launch a 3rd party, and Rudy could actually get above 10% - maybe even win the whole thing based on the circumstances.  Bloomy should fund his campaign.
