I - The Oath

I do solemnly affirm that I will faithfully execute the office of Senator, and will do the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Atlas Forum, so help me Dave.

(I will make an inaugural address later but first, as the departing President I'd like to introduce our incoming President and Vice-President)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ladies and Gentlemen, the torch has passed, it has been passed onto a new administration. My short time as President is over, almost before it begun and we must welcome a new President and a new Vice-President.

PBrunsel has been a strong figure in Atlasian politics for a long time now. He is without doubt, one of the most hard-working citizens of Atlasia we have. His campaigns have been phenomenal, his activity in Atlasian poltiics prolific, as is his influence. I am happy to see that he is finally taking up a well deserved position in the higher echelons of government. I am certain that he will fulfill all expectations, something I fear that I myself, and my predecessors did not.

We also have a new Vice-President to welcome, Keystone Phil. Phil hasn't been around as long as many members but his impact has still been great. He has battled against stiff opposition in several elections and fallen just short several times. He has led strong initiatives and protests over issues before the Senate and been an active voice as a citizen of Atlasia. Now Phil gets the chance to prove to be all that he can be.

Between PBrunsel, Phil and an able bodied cabinet I am certain that the forums will move onwards and upwards into better times and as a Senator, I will do anything I can to help ensure that a greater Atlasia is brought about and that we move into times of progress.

My administration started well, but in all honestly it did not stay as such and I am shocked that I held such a high approval rating upon my departure from the White House. I am sure that PBrunsel will do a better job than I and that he will make Atlasia stronger and better off.

In trying times such as these when the legislative power of the Senate no longer seems to exist, a strong leader is what we need, and that is what we have ladies and gentlemen.

This nation was formed on an idea, a grand idea of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. While we grow old and the sun rises over our nation that idea lives on. A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on, lives on in our hearts, our minds, our very souls. That idea is what PBrunsel and Phil will be nurturing, caring for.

They hold the top jobs now, it is their responsibility, and I cannot see them shirking it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the people of Atlasia made the right choice, two honourable men, two kind men, two men who will lead us forward.

On that note, I would like to call them up to take the oath laid out by Justice King and make their inaugural addresses. Congratulations Guys, you made it, all that remains is to get on up here, and show us how it's done.

*claps for the President and Vice-President*

I - The Oath

I, Keystone Phil, do solemnly swear  that I will faithfully execute the office of Vice President, and will do the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Atlas Forum, so help me Dave.

(Applause)

Thank you, my friends. Today, Atlasia looks out to a brighter dawn. As this new administration is sworn in, we face challenges. However, it through strong leadership that we will overcome the problems that are ahead of us thus opening our eyes to a much better tomorrow. As I stand here today, before you and our soon to be new President, I give you my word and promise to serve Atlasia to the best of my ability.

There are goals we all wish to accomplish but it is through hard work with the opposition that we can achieve greatness. We may not always agree, but we need to find a common ground on the issues, we need to listen to the people, we need to provide the people with real leadership if we hope to move foward.

I hope that you will join me in this journey and I ask for your prayers not only for myself and Mr. PBrunsel, but for this place we call Atlasia. With God's help, we can make our way through the storms we may face and into a safer, more prosperous future. Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless Atlasia.

I PBrunsel do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of Atlasia and will do the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Atlas Forum, so help me Dave.
                 ---------------------------------------------

President Kennedy, Former President Nym90, distinguished Senator, honored guests, and my fellow Atlasians;

Today we begin a new path. This path is one  that will lead us forward into a better and brighter future full of progress, but we can not forget the past. The past is what we should use to mold a policy to help us in the present and expand our future. I thank the work of our past President, Nym90, Gustaf, and John F. Kennedy.  They’re leadership and decisive choices have helped Atlasia stay united and strong, and that is what I plan on continuing.

We must not allow partisan bickering to be taken in a hire priority than effective cooperation. We must not be enemies, we must be friends. Though our parties may divide us, are nation unites us. We must not label each other as Democrat, Republican, Centrist, or Socialist, but look at each other as people who have ideas, thoughts, fears, and dreams. We must act like statesmen, not politicians. For the more divided we are at home, the more likely the enemies of freedom will attack. We must  be united to protect our home front and to protect our freedoms.

Herbert Hoover stated in 1944, “Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity.” The greatest cure to the ills of human rights violating and world tyrannies is to support those who cry for freedom. I say that those who desperately yearn for the 4 basic freedoms established by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion, the freedom from want, and the freedom from fear, should be given those freedoms. We are a great people who feel all deserve to enjoy the rights we are given. Our mission will not be completed until every voice that cries for freedom is no longer brutally shushed, until every man, woman, and child enslaved by a dictator will be able to throw off the shackles of tyranny.

The American Dream is the great gift that is passed down from one generation to another. The second that this dream can not be achieved is the second we have let down our founding fathers.  The dream of working hard and succeeding is the dream that is held dear by the man considered as the little man or the common man. Once a “little man” works his way to success, any success, than the dream of Atlasia continues. The great dream that you can achieve whatever you want if you just stick to it and work hard is the greatest of all things I could work for as President. As President of Atlasia I will help the man wanting to succeed by hard work to reach his goal. The goal of the man who is conceived as the least important is also the goal of the government.

It is the role of the government to help the people. not hinder them. As Ronald Reagan said, “The problem is not what’s in government, the problem is government.” Government is far too big! It needs to be sized down so that it comes from the people and not at them. Government has a purpose, and it is to represent the best interests of the people, and I feel the people want to see less government. Less government represents the people. Keep the government small and the people will be free. It is the goal of government to stay out of their way so that goals can be achieved and goals can be met head on by the people. A small government speaks best for the people.

People of Atlasia., freedom is calling us, let us not ignore it, let us embrace it. Let the government stay out of your lives so you may run your own.  The people must be put first, and politics second. May it be the goal of my administration not to take our country left or right, but forward.

I would like to say a few words for my good friend PBrunsel.

Atlasian citizens could not have elected a finer man to the office of the Presidency. PBrunsel is a man of great character, and one who has demonstrated time and time again that he is willing to reach out to the other side and come to common sense solutions. I am confident that he will continue to do so. I look forward to working with him, as he has some bright ideas for the future of our nation.

Let us now go forth in a spirit of unity between the parties, and put aside the petty divisions of the past. Let us seek solutions that will do this great nation proud.
