https://michaelshermer.com/2009/08/the-natural-and-the-supernatural/

Is there a nexus between the the natural and the supernatural?
or
Is it impossible to prove that the supernatural exists because such a nexus doesn't exist?

etc. etc. yada yada yada

Probably not, but I decided to be charitable and vote for the first option because I don't really want to read the whole thing right now.

You summary of it is odd, to say the least.

He states that
1) Reasonable people know that religion and science don't deal with the same problems, and don't try to merge them.
2) Humans' pattern-seeking created God.

It wasn't meant to be a summary of what he is arguing. I do think it is relevant, however.
The question in my mind is whether the supernatural is connected in anyway to the natural and if not, how can we experience anything supernatural?

God 2.0 another way to look at the universe.

Here is another link form Shermer's site about "the Quantum Flapdoodle of Deepak Chopra":

Perhaps of interest to any science fans here?
