How can you listen to Tancredo and not determine that he is practically a Nazi?

The same way that "progressives" can listen to Obama and not determine that he is practically a big-government loving socialist.

Now I know what thread to use whenever Mr. Moderate bashes Democrats for not being aggressive enough on gay issues, then cheerleads anti-gay Republicans.

I find his posts' layout, with all those weird bolded phrases and precise stuff (likely to hide his idiocy) the funniest part of that clueless hack.

What would you propose as an alternative, Naso?

If I were President in 1962? Air strikes on the missiles, followed by full scale Cuban invasion.

The Soviets would cower and back down after the invasion and air strikes. They wouldn't try and retaliate with an attack on Berlin or launching missiles. They knew they'd be gone. In the event of a 1962 nuclear attack, the U.S. would have been badly hit, but the Soviets would have been turned to cinders...literally...utterly wiped out. They wouldn't have taken the chance.

The age wave does not posit that voters 18-34 will continue to support the President; rather it contends that the influx of voters younger than 18 will tilt the scales in his favor.  It must be remembered that many voters in 2012 will have been born as late as 1994.  These voters remember the Bush years, and their memories - of crony capitalism, of their father coming home after grueling hours in the mill, of oil men plundering their homes and leaving them with nothing to eat - are not fond.  They will remember the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.  They will remember the grandiose stunt of the President fling a naval aircraft onto an aircraft carrier to a banner reading "Mission Accomplished" only to find out later that the war continued in Iraq and Afghanistan. Of course they will remember the subprime lending scam and real estate bubble coming to a bad end.  Many will have recognized as young as age 14 that Sarah Palin was a political disaster.

Such is what I can say about the current trend in politics - that with the coalition that it now has, the Republican Party is doomed to lose one election after another until it finds a new coalition, one based on something other than a combination of plutocrats, corporate bureaucrats, theocrats, and alley cats.

Not a bad explanation of who the GOP base consists of.
