...and uhh the Humane Society and AARP too so this isn't too much of an obvious capitulation to NRA influence in the House.
It is pretty ironic that it is the Democratic Party that is carving out a special exemption for the NRA in one of its laws, when you'd expect such a party to be the Republicans. It is also pretty ironic that the Republicans are opposed to a somewhat pro-gun measure:
But the biggest irony is that in a bill intended to ensure open disclosure of interest group spending, the Democratic Party is cutting a deal with one of those interest groups to protect it from the aims of that bill.
Hell now they've decided to establish a two-tiered system of expenditure disclosure might as well carve out exemptions for the Sierra Clubs, EMILY's Lists, and NAACPs of the world too. They've made a mockery of the bill already as it is.
