Discuss.

I've never seen an actual ghost, but i once saw what looked liked a shadow on the wall in my bedroom of a person.

When I was really little (like, 3), I saw Boo from Super Mario Bros in my parents' bedroom.

My dad held an "exorcism," when in reality all he'd have to have done is never turn his back toward it.

I believe in ghosts and the supernatural.

This forum is also very closed minded when it comes to unexplained things. Lots of arrogance that you guys know everything.

Yes, many times. I also knew the exact time that two people I knew died. At the exact time they died.

WHY do you believe though? What evidence do you have?

I'm willing to accept the possibility of ghosts, but until I have sufficient evidence to show they actually exist I have no more reason to believe in them than leprechauns, big foot, the Loch Ness Monster, alien abductions, God, Satan, angles, demons, invisible pink unicorns, chupacabra, mermaids, or any of the other supernatural/paranormal beings and occurrences that people have claimed to experience yet for some reason can't prove. If being closed minded entails believing in something when there's not sufficient evidence to believe in it, then I'd rather be that way than open minded.

I didn't mean being open-minded, that's just saying you don't know. I mean the people saying "they don't exist, there is no possibility they exist, you are stupid if you believe in them" such as fezzy's comment.

Is Fezzy's comment really that stronger than the inverse of "I believe in ghosts" (what you said), in substance?  Yeah it's stronger in tone, but that's about it.

If you believe (as I -and many others- do) that each of us have souls/spirits that cling to our bodies as long we are living, but then leave us once we have died, then the belief in ghosts is but only a logical progression from that starting point, IMHO.  What are ghosts, but the visible manifestations of those bodiless spirits who appear to those of us who happen to be more sensitive to the spiritual world than others?

And as to your second question, I am afraid that all I can say is that some (maybe that would include you) will never be convinced by any medium offered unless they happen to see that ghost with their own eyes.  It is the sort of thing that you will just have to see to believe, to use a tired cliché.
