http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto

In short this is a fully made up international language that wanna be a breeding of several others.

I'm not a fan of such totally intellectual constructions that wanna be universal, especially when there is not an urge for it, unlike for Braille language for example.

Reflects Zamenhof too much to be very useful as a universal language.

A universal language would lead to world with no differences, no contrasts and little cultures. It would be a Jacobin-like centralized state which represses differing cultural expressions. Therefore, I oppose any attempt to create a universal language which would effectively destroy all cultural heritages.

Beyond that, it's utterly unworkable. And it's silly. But on the other hand, making up languages like Zamenhof did is always fun to do.

A universal language can also be something spontaneously created. I think English is taking the world, isn't it?

I think a language is manifestation of a society, therefore, an actual global society with an actual global culture would spontaneously gather itself around an universal language. The differences of languages can only come from some will of different cultures/societies. What happens in French rough districts shows it, youngs who don't feel being part of the society invent their own language.

If the will of cultural/societal differences are deep, then there would still be deep differences of languages, if they are not really deep, then there can still be differences of languages but they would remain minor.

Anyways nothing is never shut, if ever one day there is an actual global society, nothing says it would last, some could spontaneously want to break with it, and then their language will follow them.
