Neither, really. I believe the "average Democrat" to be pretty moderate, all things considered. opebo is probably closer simply by default: the Dixiecrats left in 1948.

I like the word 'deviant'.  The one I don't like is 'pervert', because it is so commonly used by adolescent prudes to describe all male sexual desire.

But about the question at hand, yes, the right wing fellow is the one who is similar to most Democrats.  I'm so far advanced of most americans that it would be unlikely that any large group of them would be similar to me.
